It consists of a box 3 with a support 1 for strips of negatives with one or a number of apertures 2 via which light enters at an angle such that it is reflected on the black areas of the negative and passes through the light coloured areas without producing shiny patches on the magnifier 5 for enlarging the image. The bottom of the box 4 is matt black. The observer can thus see the light-coloured parts of the negative in black and the dark parts in a light colour, with the correct gradation of greys. It facilitates classification and observation of b/w negatives. <IMAGE>
