A rifle mechanism includes a rifle bolt (2) which is displaceably and non-rotatably mounted in a bolt housing (3). The front part of the bolt has provided thereon locking shoulders (6) for coaction with corresponding locking shoulders (7) in the bolt housing. Accurate centering of the bolt in the bolt housing, in the firing position, is made possible by the fact that the forward part of the bolt (2) has provided thereon forward guide means (14), while rear guide means (15) are provided at the rear part of the bolt. These two guide means (14, 15) are not brought into guiding engagement until the final phase of forward movement of the bolt. |
