PURPOSE:To reduce weight and provide a compact device by enclosing a release mechanism which performs release action of a locking mechanism in a box- shaped base member covered with a cover member, and installing a resin damper mechanism between the outside of the base member and a pedal member. CONSTITUTION:A pedal member 20 is pivotally supported to a shaft 13 which is fixed to an approximately box-shaped base member 10 securely installed at a prescribed position, such as a dashboard, and a bracket 21 and a sector gear 23 for stopping a brake cable are securely installed to the pedal member 20. A locking mechanism 30 is constituted from a gear 31 engaged with the sector gear 23, a brake drum 32 which integratedly rotates with a gear 31 and a brake spring 33 wound around the brake drum 32, and the locking mechanism is pivotally supported to a shaft 14 which fixes the gear 31 and the brake drum 32 securely to the base member 10. Besides, a release mechanism 50 is constituted from a release lever 51, a motor 52, a gear mechanism 53 and so on, the release lever 51 is pivotally supported by the shaft 14. Then a resin air damper 82 is installed between the rod 24 of the pedal member 20 and a shaft 16 on the base member 20. |
