PURPOSE:To obtain information whether printing process should be performed using a print server by detecting the operating state of a printing device and notifying a print data output device about the state. CONSTITUTION:Print data which is outputted from a single or a plurality of print data output devices connected to LAN cable Cable is temporarily stored in an external auxiliary storage device Disc as temporarily recorded spool file spfile. Then said print data is outputted to a printing device PUNIT sequentially for spool processing. A print output control part PP stores a normal/ abnormal state in PSTATUS as a printer state and responds to another system according to the content of the printer state. The print output control part PP notifies another system about the abnormal state of a printing device and allows a print server to interpret whether it should perform print processing. |
