<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate feathering on paper, which is caused by discharged ink droplets, and form an image at high density by discharging ink onto a drum, around which a PET film is wound, to perform recording, and transferring the image to recording paper after evaporating moisture contained in the ink with the aid of a dryer to increase the density of dyes. CONSTITUTION:Ink is discharged onto a drum 2 by an ink jet head 1 according to image printing information, and recording is performed. In order to prevent recesses and protrusions on paper that may be caused after printing, the distance between the ink jet head 1 and the drum 2 can be made equal to, or closer than a distance between a head and paper as seen in a conventional system, whereby printing accuracy can be enhanced. Liquid droplets discharged and recorded do not penetrate into a film due to the water-repellent effect of a PET film on the drum 2 but remain to stay on the surface of the film. The liquid droplets stayed on the surface are forcibly dried by a dryer 3 while keeping a uniform round shape and a small size, so that the density of dyes in the ink droplets is greatly increased. The ink droplets, in which the density of dyes has been increased, are transferred to recording paper 5 by allowing the drum 2 to contact a roller 4 under pressure.</p> |
