PURPOSE:To obtain an ink ribbon which is thin and has excellent durability, by a method wherein a fabric woven from a polyamide multifilament yan of specified fibers is cut into a tape form so that the warp direction of the fabric coincides with the longitudinal direction of the cut piece, and the cut piece is impregnated with an ink. CONSTITUTION:A polycapramide polymer containing not less than 95mol% of recurring units of epsilon-caprolactum and having a relative viscosity in sulfuric acid of not lower than 3.0 is spinned, and the spinned fiber is taken through a heating zone of 30-200mm. provided beneath a nozzle while heating to a temperature of not lower than 250 deg.C, followed by drawing with a predetermined draw ratio to obtain a polyamide multifilament yarn having a single yarn fineness of not more than 1.0 denier and a total denier of not more than 25 denier. A fabric woven from the multifilament yarn is cut into a tape form so that the warp direction of the fabric coincides with the longitudinal direction of the cut piece, and the cut piece is impregnated with an ink to obtain an ink ribbon. |
