<p>PURPOSE:To promote the standardization by setting the outside diameter dimension, the number of pins and the arrangement of pins of the IC card to the same, and also, providing a function discriminating means of an electronic circuit. CONSTITUTION:A computer 101 is provided with a single connector 102, and as for an IC card, a card medium 103 in which a system program for a word processor is stored, a card medium 104 in which a system program for a game is stored, and a card medium 105 for a data memory are prepared in advance. The card mediums 103-105 are all provided with the same external form dimension and the number of pins, and can be attached and detached arbitrarily to and from the connector 102. In such a state, at the time of inserting the card, a voltage by combination of 'H' and 'L' appears in a specific pin, therefore, an information processing apparatus detects the voltage, and discriminates the function of the medium stored in the IC card. In such a way, even if the external form dimension and the number of connector pins are not changed, the IC card can be used for plural use purposes.</p> |
