DESULFURIZATION OF COAL-DERIVED GAS

PURPOSE:To effectively desulfurize a coal-derived gas with a compact desulfurizer and a minimum amount of a desulfurizing agent by subjecting a high-temperature coal derived gas to a plurality of specific desulfurization steps. CONSTITUTION:A high-temperature coal-derived gas is desulfurized in a desulfurization step in which a fluidized bed is used. The gas is then further desulfurized in a desulfurization step in which a moving bed and a desulfurizing agent made of an ore containing iron particles preferably with an average particle size of 0.5 to 3mm are employed.
