PURPOSE:To obtain a fluorocopolymer improved in adhesion to substrates, comprising fluoroolefin units, vinyl ether units and specified units. CONSTITUTION:A fluoroolefin (a) (e.g. CF2=CF2) is copolymerized with a vinyl ether (b) comprising 99.5mol% 1-3C linear alkyl vinyl ether and 0.5-10mol% cycloalkyl vinyl ether and a monomer (c) such as CH2=CHO(CH2)OH to obtain a solvent-soluble fluorocopolymer comprising 30-70mol% component (a) units, 20-60mol% component (b) units and 1-25mol% units of the formula (wherein (m) is 0-10; and (n) is 1-10) and having a number-average mol.wt. (gel permeation chromatography) of 3000-200000 and a degree of crystallinity of 0%. This copolymer and an aminoplast compound (e.g. melamine resin) or a polyisocyanate compound (e.g. hexamethylene diisocyanate) are dissolved in an organic solvent (e.g. benzene) to obtain a coating composition. |
