Compsns. (I) liq. at room temp. comprise (A) di-isocyanate (B) thiol of functionality at least 2 , and (C) catalyst. USE/ADVANTAGE - Forming transparent (including to UV), glass-clear prods. for use as adhesives in optical industry, assembly adhesives or encapsulating material in microelectronics, adhesives in plastics processing and furniture industries and in construction of machines and vehicles, such as in bonding plastics to plastics, glass, or metals, metals to metals or glass, ceramics, also casting resins. At room temp. mixt. of (A) and (B) is stable but cures rapidly in presence of (C) without use of solvent, prod. is film-forming and has good adhesion to wide range of materials; prod. from aliphatic (A) and aliphatic (B) has good transparency upto 250nm and excellent resistance to radiation, e.g., unfiltered light from high pressure Hg lamp.
