The air-conditioning of a motor vehicle has a refrigeration circuit which consists of a compressor (1), a condenser (2), an expansion valve (3) an evaporator (4) and a combined drier and liquid receiver (5). The liquid receiver has an inlet connection (9) and an outlet connection (10) which form part of a valve mounted inside the liquid receiver. The valve (6) has a control shaft (14) to which three pistons (17,18) and (19) are attached. This valve can be positioned so that the liquid receiver is shut off from the refrigeraion circuit. ADAVNTAGE - This feature prevents the spilling of any of the refrigerant when servicing the refrigerating system.
