A yeast-derived Epidermal Growth Factor-like composition having an equivalency of from about 1000 to at least 943000 nanograms of murine-derived Epidermal Growth Factor activity per milligram of said composition, and processes for the production and assay of said composition. Dosage compositions for both topical and oral application are also provided.
