<p>PURPOSE:To perform the efficient regeneration of the titled adsorbent without necessitating a large-sized regenerator by providing a contact combustion catalyst bed to an inlet of an adsorption tower, introducing the preheated air and the hydrocarbon deries fuel in a regeneration period of the zeolite adsorbent and performing the contact combustion. CONSTITUTION:A contact combustion catalyst bed 9 wherein an oxidizing catalyst such as Pt and Pd is deposited on a ceramic honeycomb structural body such as alumina and mullite is provided to the inlet parts of the adsorption towers 5, 6 packed with a zeolite adsorbent. When the adsorption performance of the zeolite adsorbent is decreased, the gaseous mixture of air preheated with a heat exchanger 3 and the hydrocarbon series fuel such as LPG and propane is introduced into the adsorption towers 5, 6 and the fuel is subjected to the contact combustion in the contact combustion catalyst bed. The heat of combustion of this case is introduced into a packed bed 8 of the zeolite adsorbent to heat and regenerate the adsorbent. Therefore the efficient regeneration is performed without necessitating a large-sized regenerator such as a vacuum pump.</p> |
