PURPOSE:To decrease the number of times in which a recording medium moves back and forth and to obtain a good color image by using a recording head and one among plural developing devices and forming the image during either forward or backward movement of the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A control signal is fed from a sequence control circuit to a developing device control circuit and pump control circuit by which a motor 18a is operated and a developing device 10a is set in a developing position. The recording operation by a recording driver circuit 21 is executed at the same instant when electrostatic recording paper 9 is drawn out in the arrow C direction. The developing device 10b is then set in the developing position and the paper 9 is unwound toward the arrow D direction; at the same time the image of the 2nd color is recorded. The developing device 10c is thereafter set and the paper 9 is moved toward the arrow C direction so that the recording of the 3rd color is executed. The developing device 10d is further set, the paper 9 is moved toward the arrow D direction and the recording of the 4th color is executed. The number of times in which the recording medium moves back and forth is thus decreased and the good color image is formed. |
