The device has a pulsing burner (1) supplied with fuel (4) and connected to a burner resonator tube (2). This tube is fitted with at least one supply pipe (5) for the spray material (mixt. of active substance and carrier substance). The burner and burner resonator tube are surrounded by a cooling-air resonator tube (3). At least one duct (13) for sec. cooling air (15) is provided at the outlet end (10) of burner resonator tube. This duct may be formed by an opening in the casing (12) of the cooling-air resonator tube (3). The sec. cooling air may be directed into the mixt. of exhaust gas, spray material and prim. cooling air, or may enter the mixt. of exhaust gas and spray material pref. in the region where the spray material joins the gas. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in the spraying of for example an insecticide, fungicide or pesticide which is mixed with a carrier substance to improve the characteristics of the spray or vapour, and is expelled from a spray gun by the exhaust gas from an oil burner. Combustible oils are often used as carrier substances in such applications.
