The compensation is achieved by a processing circuit inerte inserted in the electrical section of the signal transfer path. This receives the input signals (U1) and provides compensated output signals (U2). The latter are obtained using a stored programme and characteristic values for the loudspeaker response, held in a PROM. Pref. the analogue signal processing circuit uses integrators (B), summing devices (S), inverters (I) and setting potentiometers (P).
