An improved hydraulic modular die lifter system for supporting a die in a press bed, comprising a plurality of die lifter modular blocks (11) arranged for securement in end-to-end relation to form a horizontal row, each said block being provided with a longitudinally extending fluid flow passageway (21) which communicates with a plurality of spaced apart vertical bores (16) in which are housed plungers (19) movable between retracted and extended positions, a male joining element (14) integral with and projecting from one end wall of the block (11) and a female joining element (15) formed in its other said end wall, the male and female joining elements (14, 15) co-operating with the joining elements of adjacent blocks for releasably coupling the blocks together in said end-to-end relation, and sealing means (34) for effecting a seal between mating surfaces of the interlocking male and female joining elements (14, 15) to prevent loss of fluid pressure. |
