The invention relates to coagulants for lacquers, waxes and/or coating materials containing double-layer hydroxide compounds, aqueous suspensions containing the coagulants, a process for producing the coagulants and the use of the coagulants and/or of the aqueous suspension. In particular, the invention relates to the use of hydrotalcite, pyroaurite and magaldrate as new coagulants in lacquer-disposal installations.
