<p>PURPOSE:To surely restrain a riding person with the quick spread of an air bag in up and down and left and right directions assured by making the spread length of an inner bag shorter than that of an outer bag and also expanding gas pressure be supplied to the outer bag via the inner bag. CONSTITUTION:An inflator 12 is actuated at the time of a collision to generate gas pressure from the inflator 12. Both bags 13 and 14 receiving the gas pressure pushes open upper and lower lids 3A and 3B from their divided line 1 to be expanded and spreaded toward a room side. When the inner bag 13 becomes a condition of its almost full spread, the outer bag 14 receives the gas pressure from the gas passing port of the inner bag 13 to be considerably large expanded and spreaded. After that, further gas pressure supply to the outer bag 14 via the inner bag 13 completes the spread of the outer bag 14. Because of the formation of a vent hole on the outer bag 14, the gas discharge sufficiently relaxes a shock to a riding person at the time of a collision.</p> |
