PURPOSE:To save the capacity of a high-speed image memory and increase the capacity of a low-speed image memory by a method wherein image data stored in the high-speed image memory serving as a buffer memory are sequentially transmitted to the low-speed image memory, and a difference between an image data input speed and an image data output speed to a printing head is used. CONSTITUTION:A high-speed image memory (HM) 3 acts at a high speed and has a memory capacity for one screen or less as a buffer memory. A low-speed image memory (LM) 12 acts at a low speed and has a memory capacity for several screens for holding a large number of image data. In a real-time printing of image data, the image data received by the HM 3 through an AD converter 2 is transmitted to the LM 12 through an image processing circuit (IP) 14. A transmitting speed at this time is determined in accordance with a writing speed to the LM 12. The image data in the LM 12 is supplied to a head controller 6 through the IP 14 under the monitor of a memory controller 13. The IP 14 conducts an image processing, such as a rotation. |
