摘要

The data reduction is effected via vector quantisation of the coefficients obtained by transformation coding using a symmetrical Hadamard matrix. The incoming video signal is divided into blocks each containing the same number of sample values and the elements of each 2-dimensioned block are arranged in an input vector using a Peano curve before transformation into mean value coefficients. The coefficients fed to at least two cascade stages for providing the quantisation. Pref. the sampled chrominance components of the digital image signal are treated in the same way as the mean value coefficients.
