PURPOSE:To uniformize air volume over the entire sectional area of an outlet even where fan diameter is much smaller than the horizontal size of the outlet, by a construction wherein the vertical size of an outlet of a casing is smaller than the blade end-to-end size of a fan, and the horizontal size of the outlet is much greater than the fan diameter and smaller than the horizontal size of a portable main body. CONSTITUTION:An outlet 42 of a casing 43 has a vertical size A smaller than the blade end-to-end size B of a first fan 40 of eccentric multiblade type, and a horizontal size C much greater than the diameter D<phi> of the first fan 40 and approximate to the horizontal size of a front face of a main body 30. Cold air is fed to the very wide outlet 42 by the blowing action of the first fan 40, and the static pressure of the cold air is gradually raised in an air duct leading from the fan 40 to the outlet 42. The flow of cold air is dispersed in the width directions of the outlet 42, and the small vertical size of the outlet 42 ensures that the cold air is blown out at a uniform velocity. A uniform and wide blowing action is achieved, with the air volume being uniform throughout the sectional area of a cold-air outlet grille 36. |
