PURPOSE:To improve efficiency in tunneling by a method wherein natural ground is excavated with an excavator brought in the tunnel, concrete is cast in a gap made by forms for lining installed after the excavation while muck is being discharged, and the excavation is progressed further. CONSTITUTION:A tunnel excavator 1 is brought in a tunnel and natural ground 26 is cut in horseshoe-shaped face with free face cutting devices 8 that are moved in the forward and the backward directions and in the rightward and the leftward directions with holding devices 16 and in the vertical direction with hydraulic jacks 8a. Then muck is placed on a muck loader 9 and is discharged rearward. Then a rock bolt driver 21 is propelled and a rock bolt is driven into the excavated face. A form 11 is then erected and a gap is formed with a gable-stopping member 14 that is provided on the gable side, and concrete is cast in the gap. The excavator is propelled with a jack 17 on reaction force taken on a pressure-resistant device with a jack 20. Thereby term of works can be shortened. |
