Lock for insert of surgical endoscope - consists of spring-loaded bolt which engages groove in insert collar

The surgical endoscope has a tubular shaft (2) which receives an insert (1). The insert (1) has a collar (3) with a circumferential groove (4). This collar fits in a recess (6) in the flange (5) attached to the end of the tubular shaft. The insert can be locked relative to the tubular shaft by a bolt. This bolt (7) slides in a hole in the flange, and engages the grooves in the collar. The bolt is held in the locking position by a spring and can be released by an externally mounted press button.
