Recording device for gear wheel profile - has stepped flame with different base circles, rule moving round circles and displaced on table, needle tracing profiles on screen

The arrangement for displaying gear wheel profiles on a screen contains a plate (1) with the diameter of a base circle in a scale. The plate is attached to an axle (2). A rule (3) rotates on the circle without slipping and is displaced on a table (4) whilst simultaneously in contact with the circle. A needle (5) traces the profile on the screen. The plate is stepped with different base circles to enable indication of different profiles. The rule can contact one of the circles. A coil (6) carrying electric current is mounted inside the plate. The coil creates e.m. force to draw the rule to the disc (1). USE/ADVANTAGE - Rule can be easily moved between stages of plate and is applied using force to eliminate slipping whilst friction is reduced using rollers. Teething small module gearwheels in factory workshop and in laboratory to control profile on measuring projector.
