Cellulose washing

To wash cellulose, or a cellulose felting, it is carried between two seive belts through a number of stations with pressure and suction while held and clamped between the belts. Pref. the sieve belts travel horizontally, or generally horizontally while the cellulose material is being treated. The suction effect is applied while the sieve belts are at least partially at an angle of 40-60 deg. between two deflection rollers where the gap between their axes is greater than the deflection roller dia. The pressure action with the washing medium and the suction action are at least partially simultaneous and/or are separated. During a treatment stage, initially there is a simultaneous pressure and suction effect, followed by suction alone. The cellulose material is carried between the sieve belts from a pressure and/or suction unit to the next higher, and similar unit, so that it travels through the units in alternating directions.
