<p>PURPOSE:To provide air intake dynamic effect without installing an independent surge tank and make an air intake device compact by installing integratedly a resonance container and the grouped part of an independent intake air passage. CONSTITUTION:In a serial four-cylinder engine 1, four cylinders 2 are formed in it, where independent intake air passages 3a - 3d are connected respectively. In the respective independent intake air passages 3a - 3d, their upstream ends are bound for one group to form a grouped part 4. In an air intake device, a resonance container 11 of a prescribed volume is provided, which is connected to the upstream side intake air passage 5 on the just upstream side of the grouped part 4 through a communication passage 12, whereas the resonance container 11 and the grouped part 4 are installed integratedly. In other words, a cylindrical wall surface 11a is installed outside a wall surface 4a which forms the grouped part 4, and the resonance container 11 is formed by a space between a wall surface 4a and 11a.</p> |
