Sensor with IR detector arrangement - achieves operation by alternate use of interference transmission filters for different spectral regions passed by dewar vessel window

The sensor with an infrared detector arrangement (4) mounted in a Dewar vessel behind its closure window (2) also has a wideband optical system and at least one transmission filter mounted in its convergent beam path. The detector or array has spectral sensitivity up to a wavelength of approximately 12 micorns. The closure window is a filter transparent for two different spectral regions. Each of at least two further interference transmission filters (5, 6), which can be alternately placed in the beam path, is transparent in one of the spectral regions or for a part thereof. ADVANTAGE - Enables operation in at least two spectral regions at very low cost.
