Shredder to break down hollow bodies, partic. plastics cartridges has a feed tube (3) with its outlet end (15) towards the blade disc (14) opening directly above the blades (16). Feed tube (3) lies on a theoretical plane which forms an acute included angle with the radius extending form the rotary blade disc axis (18). Blade disc (14) is also angled on the feed tube plane, at an acute angle to the radial plane (RE) of the blade disc (14), with the apex of the acute angle in the direction of blade disc (14) rotation.
