<p>A method of producing a dye-containing positive working light sensitive material comprising reacting together a phenol or substituted phenol, formaldehyde and a dye capable of co-condensing with the formaldehyde and phenol or substituted phenol and then reacting the product with a quinone diazide. The material can be used as a coating for a lithographic printing plate, and can be applied directly to plates which have been anodised using sulphuric acid, without absorption of dye into the plate.</p> |
