<p>In prior art electromagnetically operated fuel-injection valves, the spherical valve-closure body slides in a guide bore and the fuel is fed in round the outside of the element which includes the guide bore. Fuel-injection valves of this kind have a large external diameter and a large overall volume. In the new fuel-injection valve proposed, the armature (41) has a through-bore (42) which is connected to a blind-end bore (44) running concentric to the valve longitudinal axis (7) in the ball (30) used as the valve-closure body. At least one side channel (45) leaves this dead-end bore. The fuel reaches the valve seat (31) through the through-bore (42), the dead-end bore (44) and the at least one side channel (45). This gives a particularly compact design. The design is particularly suitable for fuel-injection systems in gas explosion engines with spark ignition.</p> |
