Seal ring for conduit joint flanges in pipelines with high pressure, comprising two conic halves (1, 2) separated from each other by a web (3) and where the halves are formed so as to fit tightly in a flange groove (31, 41) in that when the halves (1, 2) are forced against each other during assembly a resilient force will be present. The web (3) has a penetrating hole enabling an individual testing of the tightness of the conduit joint at a pressure which is equal to or higher than the operation pressure, and where this testing is carried out during assembly. Furthermore, a method for such testing of conduit joints is disclosed. Both the seal ring and the method are especially adapted to be applied to risers. |
