PREPARATION OF PANEL SURFACE MATERIAL HAVING CLOTH BONDED THERETO

PURPOSE:To accurately bond cloth to a panel surface material by arranging a surface material coated with an adhesive on a mold to press the same from above by a rubber balloon to apply bending processing to the edge thereof along the mold and sucking air from the air orifice formed to a lower plate to bring the rubber balloon into close contact with the upper surface of the lower plate and the mold. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive is applied to the upper surface of a surface material 6 and cloth 7 is laid thereon to arrange the surface material 6 on a mold 5. The mold 5 is constituted of a combination of a plurality of mold blocks 13a, 13b... and fixed to the upper surface of a lower plate 4 in a close contact state in such a state that no space is left between the mold blocks. Air is sent into a rubber balloon 3 from the air port 15 provided to the side part of the upper plate 2 and a ram 1 is allowed to fall to bring the rubber balloon 3 into contact with the central part of the cloth 7 and the contact area thereof is spread from the center of the cloth to the periphery thereof and the cloth 7 is successively stretched to be bonded to the surface material 6 in such a state that no wrinkles are generated at all and no local tension acts on the cloth. The edge 12 of the surface material 6 is bent along the corners of the mold 5 by the pressing force from the rubber balloon 3.
