PURPOSE:To obtain an image with appropriate density by providing plural kinds of reference pattern latent images and controlling an image forming condition corresponding to each reference pattern latent image every latent image. CONSTITUTION:By irradiating a photosensitive belt 2 with a laser beam 3, an image data latent image is formed in an image area and plural kinds of horizontal line patterns and checker flag patterns are formed as the data latent image of the reference pattern for detecting image density in a non-image area between the image areas. Next, the latent images are respectively developed at a specified developing bias value by a developing device 4. Then, the density of the developed image of the reference pattern latent image, which is obtained by development, is optically detected by an image density detection sensor 18 and the image forming condition corresponding to each reference pattern latent image is controlled every latent image. Thus, the appropriate image density is obtained even when a latent image carrier is deteriorated and an environmental condition is changed. |
