PURPOSE:To install a repeater to an optional location and to minimize an area not within the coverage of the repeater by relaying a paging signal for individual call to be sent in terms of optical communication and sending the signal in radio communication to the recipient after being branched from the optical communication. CONSTITUTION:A paging signal is converted into an optical signal in an optional direction and fed to an exchange section 4 via photodetection sections 1-1 to 1-n, demodulation sections 2-1 to 2-n, and signal processing sections 3-1 to 3-n. Then the signal is sent to the recipient to receive the signal by using a radio communication system comprising a modulation section 7, a transmission section 8 and an antenna 9. Then the signal after the processing is sent to a succeeding repeater while being propagated again in terms of optical communication comprising modulation sections 5-1 to 5-n and light emission sections 6-1 to 6-n. Thus, the repeater is installed to an optional location and an area not covered by the paging system is minimized. |
