PURPOSE:To give a decision even on a more detailed deciding element in the prescribed zone of a product, and to improve the performance of a product inspection system by providing an arithmetic processing part with a lightness distribution calculating part. CONSTITUTION:In the arithmetic processing part 14, the lightness distribution calculating part 14d is controlled by a CPU 15 so as to extract lightness data in each picture element in the specified zone set as a window among data of R, G, B of one picture portion stored in a frame memory 12, and calculate its lightness distribution. For instance, in the case an inspected objective product is a bottle, the lightness distribution in the zone set as the window W, namely, the surface of the barrel of the bottle within picture data shown by a chain line taken in from a picture sensor 4 is calculated. At that time, if the bottle of the inspected object is a nondefective product free from damage or a stain, the lightness distribution is concentrated to some lightness level as shown in a figure. Thus, the damage, the stain, a small fault or the presence or the absence of a label, etc., are correctly decided. |
