PURPOSE:To remarkably increase catalytic activity by alternately laminating a plurality of active components in a membrane catalyst divided by grooves and forming multicomponent oxide therebetween to expose the same to the surface. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst consisting of a metal and oxide thereof is accumulated on a substrate and divided by trenches but, when the total bottom area of grooves present per a unit area of a catalyst carrier is set to St and the total side area thereof is set to Sv, Sv>=St is formed. The first components 11 and the second components 12 are alternately laminated and an alloy or multicomponent oxide 13 of both components are formed to the interfaces thereof so as to be exposed to the surface. By this method, the exposure degree of the active surface of the catalyst can be increased and catalytic activity can remarkably be increased. |
