<p>PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of mercury recovery particularly from an aq. solution having a high chloride ion concn. by a method wherein, in recovering mercury from a mercury ion-containing aq. solution, an extraction solvent contg. a dialkylmonothiophosphoric acid compound as an extraction agent is used for contact with the mercury ion-containing aq. solution. CONSTITUTION:For the subject recovery is used an extraction solvent contg. as an extraction agent the dialkylmonothiophosphoric acid compound represented by the formula I [wherein R1 and R2 are independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, aryl group, aralkyl group, substituted aryl group and substituted aralkyl group having at least three carbon atoms] and this is brought into contact with a mercury ion-containing aq. solution to permit the recovery of mercury. As an alternative, the mercury can be easily recovered by conducting a back extraction of the mercury ions from the extraction solvent having the mercury ions extracted therein using a back extraction solvent (the use of an aq. solution contg. thiourea and hydrochloric acid is preferred).</p> |
