TREATMENT OF POLYESTER FIBER

摘要

PURPOSE:To easily impart excellent anti-pilling property and color fastness to a polyester fiber and a polyester fiber dyed with a disperse dye by irradiating the fiber with ultraviolet ray having a wavelength shorter than a specific level. CONSTITUTION:A polyester fiber cloth (e.g. scoured and heat-set cloth) and a cloth dyed with a disperse dye by conventional process is irradiated with ultraviolet ray containing the component of <=300nm wavelength to easily impart excellent anti-pilling property and color fastness (e.g. fastness to washing, friction or sublimation) to the cloth. Good result can be attained by carrying out the ultraviolet irradiation treatment under a condition to lower the fiber strength of the irradiated part by 5-40%, preferably 10-30% relative to the strength of the cloth before irradiation.
