A method of computing a set of dependent variables from a given set of independent variables representing a physical process using a previously trained parallel distributed processing network representation (34) of an algorithmic representation (22) of the relationship between the independent and dependent variables utilizes the computational speed afforded by the network to decrease the computational resources required to simulate the physical process.
