METHOD OF MAKING CELLULOSE CONTAINING MATERIAL FLAME PROOF

PURPOSE: To obtain a hydrolysis-stable flame-resistant agent by making a specific ammonium polyphosphate to a microcapsule under a specific condition. CONSTITUTION: A free-flowing pulverulent ammonium polyphosphate of the formula: Hn-m+2 (NH4 )m Pn O3n+1 [(n) is an integer of 20-800 average value; (m/n)=1] is made to a microcapsule by using a 1-4C aliphatic alcohol as a diluent and a melamine/formaldehyde resin or phenol/formaldehyde resin. Whole components are uniformly mixed at a room temperature, heated at 80-180 deg.C and held under a pressure corresponding to a vapor pressure of the diluent for 15-340 min. to cure the resin component. The generated material is cooled to a room temperature and the diluent is separated, then dried. The resultant pulverulent medical agent is added to a dried fibrous material in an amount of 5-30 wt.%.
