PURPOSE:To easily detect a thin blood flow by providing a selecting circuit for selecting preferentially an output from a color interpolation circuit as interpolation data, when it is decided by a deciding circuit to display echo and color data. CONSTITUTION:With regard to each pixel on a scanning line, whether echo data is to be displayed or color data is to be displayed is decided by a deciding circuit 4. On the other hand, by an echo interpolating circuit 12, echo data to be inserted between adjacent ultrasonic scanning lines is generated. Also, by a color interpolating circuit 13, color data to be inserted between adjacent ultrasonic scanning lines is generated. In such a state, with regard to the corresponding pixels on the adjacent ultrasonic scanning lines, when it is decided by a deciding circuit 9 that one and the other are echo and color, respectively, an output from the color interpolating circuit is selected more preferentially than an output of the echo interpolating circuit. Accordingly, in the case one of the scanning lines is color and the other is echo, a color display area is displayed somewhat wide. In such a way, even in the case of a blood flow whose object basin is thin, the color display area is displayed somewhat wide. |
