PURPOSE:To prevent a specific character (including a symbol) from being outputted to an improper position at the time of arranging and outputting character pictures by determining the output position of each character picture based on the size of the character picture and its position on a document. CONSTITUTION:A row segmenting part 12 segments a picture of one row and sends the center between upper and lower ends of the segmented row picture to a character segmenting part 13 as the reference line. The character segmenting part 13 segments the character picture of one character from the segmented character picture row, and a character picture size detecting part 14 obtains the height of the segmented character picture and sends this height to a character picture arrangement determining part 15 as the character size. The character picture arrangement determining part 15 obtains the offset from the reference line of the output position in accordance with the offset from the reference line (center line) on the document. Thus, the specific character originally placed in a deviated position is prevented from being outputted to an improper position. |
