PURPOSE:To access an electronic mail through the use of a telephone set by providing a text voice converter in a public network. CONSTITUTION:A user of an electronic mail terminal equipment 2 uses a nearby telephone set from a visit location and enters a special number for voice output of an electronic mail and a number of its own mail box by means of a pushbutton. Through the entry, the user accesses a text voice converter 4 via a subscriber exchange 6 and a relay exchange 5. Then the user enters a password and a mail number and receives an electronic mail from its own mail box of an electronic mail processing unit 1 in voice at a telephone set 3 via the converter 4. Thus, even when an electronic mail terminal is not at hand of the user, the electronic mail is received.
