The subject of the invention is a drive axle system for vehicles, incorporating a frame tube 1 for the axle, axles 2,3 of the wheels joined to the frame tube and a power transmission member 4 fixed to the frame tube. The manoeuvrability of vehicles in which single-wheel drive is used is poor on bends and when turning. In the drive axle system for vehicles according to the invention, the axles 2,3 of the wheels have been placed in part inside the frame tube 1, sliding elements 5 have been fixed to the axles of the wheels and protrusion elements 6 have been fixed to the frame tube, against which protrusion elements the sliding elements 5 are arranged to be pressed. In addition, the sliding elements fixed to the axle of the wheel are arranged to slide on the surface of the protrusion elements whenever the axle of this wheel rotates faster than the axle of the opposite wheel. <IMAGE>
