Azidosulphate having the formula RCH2OSO2N3, where R has the formula (III): <IMAGE> in which R2, R3, R4 and R5 are, independently of each other, hydrogen or lower alkyl and, when X is CH2, R4 and R5 are, where appropriate, alkene groups which together form a benzene ring and, when X is oxygen, R2 and R3 and/or R4 and R5 form, where appropriate, a methylenedioxy group having the formula (II) <IMAGE> in which R6 and R7, which are identical or different, are hydrogen, lower alkyl or alkyl which together form a cyclopentyl or cyclohexyl ring, is of value as an intermediate for preparing pharmaceutical-active sulphamates.
