PRODUCTION OF LNBA2CU4OY-BASED SUPERCONDUCTING FILM

PURPOSE:To reduce the synthesizing time at atmospheric pressure and to enhance the Tc by adding a specified amt. of an alkali(earth) metal compd. to a mixture of the organometallic compds. contg. the elements constituting an LnBa2Cu4Oy-based superconducting oxide (Ln is lanthanides) in a specified ratio, applying the mixture on a substrate and heat-treating the mixture. CONSTITUTION:The organometallic compds. contg. the elements constituting an LnBa2Cu4Oy-based superconducting oxide (Ln is lanthanides) are mixed or dissolved in a solvent. An alkali metal or an alkaline-earth metal is added to the mixture or soln. by 0.1-15 mol% based on the Ln in the mixture or soln., and the mixture or soln. is applied on a substrate and then heat-treated. The molar ratio of the elements constituting the LnBa2Cu4Oy-based superconducting oxide is preferably controlled to La:Ba:Cu=(0.5 to 1.1):(1.5 to 2.5):(3.5 to 6.0) from the standpoint of the characteristic. The heat treatment is preferably carried out at 500-850 deg.C in an oxidizing atmosphere.
