PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound as an intermediate for perfumes, medicines, pesticides, etc. by reaction of a carboxylic acid with an cycloalkene in an O2-contg. gas using a catalyst of high selectivity, easy in preparation, separation and purification, consisting of a combination of a carrying-type palladium component and nitrogen-contg. oxide. CONSTITUTION:Using a catalyst of high selectivity, easy in preparation, separation and purification, consisting of a combination of a carrying-type palladium component and nitrogen-contg. oxide (e.g. palladium/activated carbon and lithium nitrate), a reaction is made between (A) a cycloalkene of formula I (R<1> and R<2> are each H or 1-6C alkyl; n is 1-4) (e.g. cyclohexene) and (B) a carboxylic acid of formula II (R<3> is 1-6C alkyl) (e.g. acetic acid) in an oxygen-contg. atmosphere to obtain the objective 3-acyloxycycloolefin of formula III (e.g. 3acetoxycyclohexene). By using such a catalyst of a specific combination under specified conditions, the reaction can be performed in high efficiency, selectivity and yield, forming little by-products. |
