PURPOSE:To raise a color-forming initiation temperature by a method wherein a thermal recording material is produced by providing a recording layer containing a fluorane black-forming leuco dye, a color developer, and 1,4-di(p- tolyloxy)benzene on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:1,4-di(p-tolyloxy)benzene shown by a formula I, a fluorane black forming leuco dye, and a color developer are separately ground by a ball mill or other grinder by a specific amount together with a water solution of a water- soluble polymer, such as a polyvinyl alcohol, as a binder. These respective ground components are mixed to prepare a dispersion liquid. This dispersion liquid is applied on a substrate, such as paper, synthetic paper, and synthetic resin film, and dried to form a recording layer. In this manner, a thermal recording material is produced. The loading amount of the 1,4-di(p-tolyloxy)benzene as a sensitizer is preferably the order of 150-250wt.% of the fluorane dye. |
