The present invention relates to a multi-functional portable grinder, intended to sharpen the blades of saws of the bandsaw, circular saw type, and chains of chainsaws used for cutting wood. According to Figure 3, the invention is characterised by an electric motor (1) driving a rotary grinding wheel (2). The assembly is carried on a pivot (6) and inclines with respect to a chainsaw chain, a bandsaw blade, or a circular saw blade. Advancement of the bandsaws takes place in step with the sharpening by means of a lever (22) and of a pawl (20). The invention is used in the industry of sharpening (grinding) all chainsaws, bandsaws, or circular saws. <IMAGE>
